Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is more secure for complex implementations.""The product itself is quite mature.""The solution is very complete. It's a good solution, for the kind of features that they offer.""This solution comes with a lot of good features.""The reusability of the solution is excellent. It's a superior feature - far superior to any other tool on the market.""I would say that the stability of Blue Prism is superior to any of the competing products because of the maintainability of the features and the openness of the tool.""Blue Prism is able to scale up at an enterprise-level. It's what I used when I was working for a big bank in Belgium.""The most valuable feature is the customizability."

"The most important and valuable feature of UiPath is the ease of creating automations. It's a workflow-based model. End-to-end coverage is, no doubt, very important, because when you use a fragmented solution, the overall process flow becomes shaky. UiPath has the required capabilities to create an end-to-end solution for a business case.""AI is a good feature. I am looking forward to that making life easier. It has enabled us to automate more processes. Based on the requirement, chat can hand over the process and we can kick off that bot to do the job. If someone has a problem with a ticket or with a schedule, they can connect to the schedule department or schedule bot.""Every project we've delivered that has some sort of time savings to it has had an intrinsic ROI.""The solution has improved our organization, specifically around all the operational aspects of the bot. Once we deploy them through the orchestrator we use insights to see how the bots are performing, what errors are referring, and just the general health insights would be the biggest lift that we've gotten out of the solution. Building the automation is a little bit easier and quicker on the platform than where we were at before.""In terms of the ease of building automation, from what I've seen, I'm very impressed. We're using a partner. We built the COE and everything that they're developing right now. Obviously, we're just starting down this path. This means we're going to go work with a partner while we're developing our own guys. We can get to market quicker.""Transformational processes are well managed, including exceptions, so that adds to the stability. Also, you can scale out from one bot to tens of thousands, so automation is quite easy with UiPath.""We had a cost reduction of approximately 20% in our operations.""Both on-prem and cloud solutions are very stable."

Cons
"There's a need to deal with unstructured input with RPA.""Lacking advance features like CIO and optical character recognition""Blue Prism is slightly difficult for the non-technical user.""They should improve the user-friendliness and they should change their business model.""The main issue is screen scraping with Blue Prism gives us a big challenge because we need to define which technologies are web-based have been built instead of by itself discovering the technology that it is built on.""Blue Prism might consider adding package options to allow users to come onboard in different ways that meet their needs rather than buying in to the whole package.""I wouldn't call Blue Prism user-friendly. It's one of its downfalls. They would benefit from having drag and drop functionality, for example. It would make them a strong competitor in the space. There needs to be less reliance on coding for customization, similar to Microsoft's Power Automate.""It takes a while to get up and running."

"The testing and release schedule for Studio should be improved because we find that with two releases per year, one of the versions is stable and the other one is not.""There should be more growth, but the platform is there. As they grow those things they should take each piece and make it better. If you start with a good platform and you build it up, it's going to get better. What we have today is very usable, and is only going to get better. I look forward to it.""In the world of NextGen technology, it would be ideal if they could speed up their beta products.""I would like more incorporation of AI features to allow for intelligent character recognition.""More videos are required. There are basic videos that can help you learn about the product, however, there need to be more in-depth videos to help you through certain tasks.""I would really like the ability to bring OCR connectors into Studio X, if possible. Right now we're only using OCR and Studio as that's where the plugins are available.""The built-in OCR is only 60% to 70% correct if you're analyzing a PDF that has images in it, so this is an area that can be improved.""In exception handling, wherever exception occurs, the out arguments are not being passed. It would be good if there is a way to pass the out arguments."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years."
  • "We pay about $15,000 per quarter in licensing costs. We don't have to pay for any other extra costs. There isn't, for example, an extra cost for technical support. We just pay the licensing."
  • "There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive."
  • "Annual licensing costs were somewhere between $5,000 - $10,000 for the development tool. For the control tower, I think fees were about $50,000 annually."
  • More Blue Prism Cloud Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The setup cost is minimal as far as other options are considered."
  • "This solution is not cheap but the price is worth it because by following the documentation and using the support, you get good robotic processes that are stable."
  • "This solution is worth the investment."
  • "The investment is relatively small compared to the potential in qualitative and quantitative benefits that can be achieved."
  • "The pricing is okay, but I recommend to build a business case before going live. Ensure that you really use the license and building the robot makes sense. Try to think of multiple use cases, because one license can be used for several robots."
  • "It is important for whatever we implement that it's cost effective in a sense that the robots will replace some human time. If human time costs less than the robot, then that's not a good deal."
  • "The pricing is average; it is not too high nor too low."
  • "The pricing is good compared to other software. Based on the features that UiPath is providing, and the community support, the price is reasonable."
